HARRISBURG – Rep. Jesse Topper (R-Bedford/Franklin/Fulton) announced today that roads near the site of the job-creating Herbruck Poultry Ranch egg farm project will be improved through a $319,576 a Multi-Modal Transportation Fund grant administered by the Commonwealth Financing Authority (CFA).

The grant funding is part of a much larger, $140 million project by Herbruck Poultry Ranch to construct a new facility, which is to include eight barns to house 2.4 million chickens, on a 334-acre site. Once operational, the farm is expected to create nearly 200 new full-time jobs.

The grant will partially fund a project to repave Landis Drive and to widen the turn radii at its intersections with Church Hill and Fort Loudon roads.

“Though this project will allow the roads to accommodate increased traffic, area motorists will also benefit from the road improvements,” Topper said. “I am grateful the CFA also saw the merits of investing in this project that will improve our local and state economy.”

The Multimodal Transportation Fund provides grants to encourage economic development and ensure that a safe and reliable system of transportation is available to the residents of the Commonwealth.
