HARRISBURG – Rep. Jesse Topper (R-Bedford/Franklin/Fulton) announced today funding through the Commonwealth Financing Authority’s (CFA) Pennsylvania Dairy Investment Program for a Peters Township dairy.

Destiny Dairy Bar was awarded a $50,000 grant it will use toward establishing a dairy processing facility to produce cheese curds, ice cream, drinkable yogurt and flavored milk, which will be made from milk purchased from a local dairy farm. Destiny Dairy Bar is being developed as a destination agritourism destination that features retail, lodging and tours.

“This funding will be used to not only help grow two businesses, but will also increase tourism in the Mercersburg area,” Topper said. “The grant truly goes above and beyond the parameters of the grant requirements and will benefit the community.”

The grant funding was approved as part of the CFA’s Pennsylvania Dairy Investment Program, which was established last year for research and development, organic transition, value-added processing and marketing grants in support of Pennsylvania’s dairy industry.
