BEDFORD – Rep. Jesse Topper (R-Bedford/Franklin/Fulton) announced a combined $605,280 in Pennsylvania Small Water and Sewer Program grant funding has been approved for two infrastructure improvement projects in Franklin County.

“The grant funding awarded by the Commonwealth Financing Authority (CFA) will assist our local authorities make needed improvements to infrastructure vital to our residents,” Topper said. “I applaud the CFA for seeing the merits of these projects.”

Details about the projects are as follows:

• The Mercersburg Water Authority received a $200,000 grant to improve the Buck Run water filtration plant and pressure reducing valve station in Peters Township.
• The Guest Farm Village Sewer Authority received a $405,280 grant to improve its wastewater treatment plant in Montgomery Township.

Grant funding is through the Commonwealth Financing Authority’s Pennsylvania Small Water and Sewer Program, which offers grants for small water and sewer infrastructure projects and can be used to assist with the construction, improvement, expansion, or rehabilitation or repair of a water supply or sanitary sewer system.
