HARRISBURG – House Republican Leader Jesse Topper (R-Bedford/Fulton) kicked off the new state legislative session Tuesday by taking the oath of office in the hall of the Pennsylvania House of Representatives.

“I cannot thank the people of Bedford and Fulton counties enough for returning me to office,” Topper said. “The trust they have placed in me to serve them is never lost in my work. Serving as the state representative for the place where I grew up and continue to call home is the greatest professional honor of my life.”

Topper also reflected on the new opportunities this session will bring, especially with his recent election to House Republican leader.

“I have always viewed service in the Pennsylvania House of Representatives as more than just a job – it is a calling,” he added.

“While my role in the House of Representatives has changed, my calling to represent our communities has not. I will continue to do my best to make sure the voices of you and our neighbors are heard loud and clear in Harrisburg.”
