BEDFORD – Rep. Jesse Topper (R-Bedford/Franklin/Fulton) announced that forms for the state’s Property Tax/Rent Rebate program are now available at his offices.
The program benefits eligible Pennsylvania residents age 65 and older; widows and widowers age 50 and older; and people with disabilities age 18 and older. The income limit is $35,000 a year for homeowners and $15,000 annually for renters, and half of Social Security income is excluded. The maximum standard rebate is $650, but supplemental rebates for certain qualifying homeowners can boost rebates to $975.
Topper reminds residents that they don’t have to pay a private entity for assistance filing the forms. Copies of the forms, as well as assistance with filing them, are available at Topper’s office at no cost. Anyone wishing to receive assistance should call Topper’s office to schedule an appointment. Applicants should be prepared to provide all the necessary income, property tax or rental information required to process claims quickly and accurately.
The application is also available for download at
RepTopper.com by clicking on “Property Tax/Rent Rebate Program.” The deadline to apply for a rebate is June 30.
In addition, local, state and federal tax forms, as well as state instruction books, are available at Topper’s offices. To access the forms electronically, simply go online to the state Department of Revenue site at
