Topper, Local Officials to Dedicate Bridge for Fallen Hero

WHAT: U.S. Army Sgt. Charles Warsing was killed in action during the Vietnam War in in 1968. To ensure his sacrifice is remembered, the Pennsylvania Route 913 bridge over the Raystown Branch Juniata River in Liberty Township, Bedford County, will be designated as the Sgt. Charles Warsing Memorial Bridge.
Warsing was awarded the Silver Star “For Gallantry in Action,” Bronze Star “For Heroic or Meritorious Achievement,” Purple Heart “For Military Merit,” National Defense Medal, Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal, Republic of Vietnam Service Medal and Vietnam Gallantry Cross.
WHO: Rep. Jesse Topper (R-Bedford/Franklin/Fulton), will be joined by local officials, members of Warsing’s family and the public.
WHEN: Thursday, Nov. 11, at 11 a.m.
WHERE: Saxton VFW Post 4129 Ball Field, 900 Shoup St., Saxton.
